Ten ways to refresh your garden.

Growing and maintaining a garden can be very rewarding. Here is a list of ten ways to help create a garden that you, your family and your guests get the most enjoyment out of it.

1. Use planters or other types of containers

Planters or containers are a great way to add dimension to your garden and allow you to expand your garden without needing a bigger plot of land. Many people use planters to grow in places where the soil isn't ideal for all varieties of pants.

2. Add seating to make your garden more comfortable

A garden is a great place to watch birds, spend time with loved ones or enjoy a good book. Adding chairs or a bench to your garden can help people feel more comfortable so they’ll spend time enjoying the wonderland you’ve worked to grow.

3. Create a scene

Adding statues to a garden can bring it to life. A garden gnome or an angel can give your garden an extra sense of magic and wonder.

4. Light it up

Gardens take on a whole new life when the sun goes down. Adding light to your garden allows you to enjoy it in the evening as well as during the day. By putting light in your garden you’ll see flowers that bloom at night and new critters that only come out to play when it’s dark. With solar powered lights you don’t even have to run electrical lines or worry about batteries.

5. Make it move

Adding spinners is an easy way to bring whimsy and joy to your garden.

6. Go Vertical

Vertical planters allow you to grow unique plants in places that you didn’t think possible. They inspire creative blends of colors and are a fun way to grow herbs.

7. Bring the birds to you

One of the great joys of gardening is watching the local wildlife interact with your garden. Adding bird feeders, bird houses or bird baths to your garden will invite new types of birds. Feeder selection is important. For instance, some feeders are better for finches while others are better for hummingbirds. Bird houses can attract birds for nesting. Watching a bird family nest in your yard will bring you and your family hours of joy.

8. Bring sounds into your garden

A garden provides a bounty of vibrant colors and beautiful smells. Adding wind chimes can be the last touch that transforms a garden into a magic sanctuary.

9. Make it miniature

Don’t have a yard or a space for planters? Miniature gardens, also known as terrariums, are a great way to connect with nature in a small space.

10. Just Add Water

Running water is a great way to bring magic to your garden. As the water moves it creates a southing effect that makes your garden feel more serene and wonderful.
